-If Superman was here there'd be no bombs
-Aye - he'd hear them ticking with his x-ray ears
Poignant, funny and unsentimental, MOJO MICKYBO is about two boys' escape from a city overshadowed by hatred and fear. A play about a people, a time and a country.
Martin Brody and Benjamin Davies perform seventeen parts in this fast paced, poetic and colourful play by award winning writer Owen McCafferty whose work includes Shoot the Crow (Trafalgar Studios) & Scenes from the Big Picture and Closing Time (National Theatre).
'This is a glorious, vivid little play full of verbal swagger and, in Jonathan Humphreys' excellent production, real physical elan, too. Beneath it's exuberance lies a real sadness about the blindness of sectarianism, the loss of innocence and how all heroes, even your father, fall in the end. Small but lethal.'
Lyn Gardner, The Guardian
'A marvellously imaginative mix of reminder and warning.'

Benedict Nightingale, The Times
'Hugely entertaining... Humphreys' plays deftly with the pace of the dialogue, and moves with effortless grace between times and emotional tones... A punch that lands with surprising force'
