Rose believes in true love and leprechauns. Her flatmate Cassie is engaged in a fervent struggle against patriarchal oppression.

Across London, Mark believes in the power of marketing. His flatmate Tim Muffin is engaged in a fervent struggle against his own waistline.

When circumstance throws them together, all four have their beliefs tested to devastating effect in a biting black comedy about trying to connect in a city where Gumtree can sometimes feel like your closest friend.

The play will be published by Faber and Faber as a programme playtext. It is a Strawberry Vale Production in association with the Bush Theatre.

If you would like to get involved, support the production or just want to find out more, do just get in touch!

And of course, booking as soon as you can makes all the difference to us...
"Exerts a tighter and tighter grip... the sheer commitment and versatility of the cast contribute to a riveting intensity... I began the evening wanting to leave... [by the end] I could hardly rise from my seat. With hindsight comes wisdom, they say." **** Dominic Cavendish, Telegraph

"Christopher Haydon’s beautifully stylised, clinical production is aided by Jon Bausor’s eerie design." *** Metro

"Niklas Rådström’s drama, which makes great use of interrogation transcripts and court documents, is stylish, thoughtful and determinedly bleached of any possible trace of hysteria... Christopher Haydon pitches his production perfectly." *** Evening Standard

"Director Christopher Haydon’s production turns a sharp eye on how society deals with child criminality. This well-crafted piece stands as a disquieting reminder of a horrific crime and the worrying capacity for it to happen again." **** What’s On Stage

"Christopher Haydon’s direction is superb, remaining unfaltering faithful and endowing the performance with enormous honesty and – in tandem with Jon Bauser’s clinically industrial design – a slick stylishness. Haydon deftly avoids hijacking a personal tragedy, yet still manages to create an affecting and judder-inducing atmosphere." Matt Trueman, Carousel of Fantasies

"An excellent piece of theatre and one well worth seeing." British Theatre Guide

"The actors (Lucy Ellinson, Sandy Grierson, Jeremy Killick and Victoria Pratt) have great integrity and intensity and Christopher Haydon’s production moves fluently and urgently." *** The Financial Times

The award was launched by Theatre Cafe/Company of Angels in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy and the Anglo-Swedish Foundation and submissions were accepted for one of four new Swedish plays presented at a reading in June.

Our proposal means fundraising for the production, programmed for a four week run in the main house of the Arcola for May 2008, is off to a strong start, financially and artistically.

I can now start working in depth with Christopher Haydon, the director, on putting together the core creative team, raising the extra finances and investigating touring opportunities for Summer/Autumn 2009.

First stop will be a three-day workshop in early December at the Arcola to play with ideas!
