Strawberry Vale wins £10,000 to produce MONSTERS

We are very excited to announce that we have won a £10,000 grant from the Anglo-Swedish Foundation towards co-producing the UK premiere of MONSTERS by Niklas Radstrom with the Arcola Theatre. The award was launched by Theatre Cafe/Company of Angels in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy and the Anglo-Swedish Foundation and submissions were accepted for one of four new Swedish plays presented at a reading in June.

Our proposal means fundraising for the production, programmed for a four week run in the main house of the Arcola for May 2008, is off to a strong start, financially and artistically.

I can now start working in depth with Christopher Haydon, the director, on putting together the core creative team, raising the extra finances and investigating touring opportunities for Summer/Autumn 2009.

First stop will be a three-day workshop in early December at the Arcola to play with ideas!
